Cross-post: Autumn Inspiration Wedding

November 24, 2010

Did you know that the Christmas Elves can design and coordinate your event?  It’s true!  Elisa is a bona fide event planner, with over seven years’ experience in the field, and has been responsible for parties from 10 to 250 people.  Pam has designed wedding flowers for over five years, and worked in the retail bridal industry for over two decades.

Today’s post includes cross-posted material from her personal blog (which has a focus on cooking and gardening, as well as other personal projects).  She’s coordinating an autumn wedding this weekend, and her design skills have been put to work!  This inspiration board includes specific elements that the bride has requested as well as photos that have helped shape the overall look and feel of the event itself.

Do you have an upcoming event, Christmas or otherwise, that you’d like the Christmas Elves to help with?  We’re available to help you design and coordinate that Holiday Party or Winter Wedding!  And just because the Christmas Season ends at New Year’s doesn’t mean we hang up our Elving hats – we’re here year-round to get you on-track.  We love event design and coordination, and are happy to work with you – and your budget! – to make your event sparkle!

The Christmas Elves’ Pandora Station!

November 22, 2010

We love Christmas music.  Decorating the house or putting up lights or baking cookies just isn’t the same without a soundtrack of the best Holiday songs!  We’ll make a confession – we even listen to Christmas music during the rest of the year, when we need a quick pick-up!

To get you in the Holiday spirit, we’re sharing our very own Pandora station, with hand-picked Christmas music for your listening pleasure.  We’ve selected our favorite classic Christmas tunes, along with songs from contemporary artists.  From Bing Crosby to Michael Buble, The Chipmunks to Glee, and even some Mannheim Steamroller, we’re serving extra helpings of comfort and joy!

Colorful Curlicue Theme

November 14, 2010

This is our favorite Christmas decorating theme to-date, a multicolored arrangement of shapes, from light bulb to swirl, artfully accenting this bayfront home.  We used the shades from the homeowner’s existing furniture to create a whimsical, modern theme, celebrating holiday fun.  At under $100 for materials to decorate four distinct spaces, this unique theme is beautiful and budget-conscious!

First, we go to the homeowner’s dining room. We love these brightly colored chairs!

The curio cabinet is one of our favorite features of the whole home:

The curio cabinet presented an unique challenge, with its asymmetrical shape and large size.

The answer, of course, was to make an asymmetrical arrangement to top the cabinet!

This chandelier in the home office can be seen in the photo of the curio cabinet; a few brightly-colored ornaments hung strategically create a beautiful and subtle decoration.

This long buffet table is where the homeowner displays holiday cards:

The fish art behind the buffet table provided more color inspiration

Finally, the hearth/television area provided a beautiful canvas to work on, and The Christmas Elves created a custom wreath to tie the whole space together!
